Made some dummy holders for a friend. These are fast and easy task – love to make these :)

Barbapapa t-shirt turns into a cool decoration

Found a baby t-shirt (stained, but the print was exellent) for 0.50euros. I cut the print out.

Then I took some doublesided adhensive fabric? (kaksipuolinen liimakangas) and ironed to the back of the print. It’s really easy to cut the print now to a nicer form, when the adhensive fabric is attached.

My dear daughter had some nice joggingpants, but they had a stain that could not be removed.

I took the backpaper from the adhensive away and placed the pic to the desirable location :) Took some bakingpaper and placed it above the print and did some more ironing…now the pic is attached to the pants. Then I just took my good old Husqvarna and did some sewing around the edges.

Tadaa :) Here they are! Brand new barbapapa-pants :)

Stripes: yellow, black & white

Wanted to do something less retro for the son, I got these striped fabrics from Kestovaippakauppa and was very happy with them. The yellow welt was not exactly the same yellow as in the stripes, but it worked just fine.. (the colours are a bit more bright than in the pics) Am not totally happy with the result, but I’m starting to get there, bit by bit..

They seem to have some nice things in the new number, I’m so happy that my husband decided to order this new years magazines for me as a Christmas –present :)

Love(!) the boys overall, will have to try to make it in a little larger size, to fit my son…+ the idea for the baby dress is fab – maybe that can be done in a larger size as well…

H&M is early, as usual, so here are few of my favorites of their new collection. Did not find anything unusual or super interesting, but these are the ones I would most likely consider for my kids.

Made it for myself, out of unused Marimekko-fabric I found form the flea-market.

I had no pattern, just made a “tube” out of the fabric (double layers)
and made the flowers to keep me safe in the dark.

I got these nice, brown panel-curtains from a friend and they needed something….something like this I tried to search for a real postal-stamp of some sort, but since I didn’t find any, I just used a free imagination to create these with free hand and some fabric colors..They are on the top of long curtains..maybe I’ll take another pic after hanging them to my living-room window…

Should I have the money to do it, I would know, what I would want..
We had a conversation about this the other day with a friend and I told, that I would still want to have an old house, it would only be bigger and well done, warm and cosy instead of the cool summer-cottage-type-of-house we now live in..But here goes, it would be something like this…(note: loads of pics, will take some time to open…sorry!)

Kitchen is VERY important and we do spend a lot of time in ours, so it would be spacious and lovely, something like this:

straight from the kitchen one could go to a patio, with a cosy barbeque-place :)

In the living-room space there would be a lots of white + colorful details and cosy spots to relax..

And of course a good sized working-space :) :

..and of course a home-studio for my musician husband:

The multiple bathrooms would be bright, fresh & always clean :D :

This was a first time I made a tunic for my Dear Daughter with an elastic piece on top, my Mom told me how and I had to try this. When I was small, my Mommy made plenty of these sort of dresses to me and I loved them, so wanted to try to make one for my DD. It turned out ok, although I had a little issues with my old sewing-machine..

The lovely blue fabric is a flea market find, cost me 0,50euros… What a bargain!

The Man of my life, my son that is :), will start in daycare on August. I went trough his shirts and he keeps growing fast, so many of the sleeves were too short for him. I made a few new shirts out of his favorite tractor-fabric (by Metsola) and the dotty-one was made out of two used shirts. He loved these!

Pimp my jeans…testing Fabric Fun pastel dye sticks

Found these from a local supermarket, for a great price: 3,95 for 15 colours.

(They also had these in a smaller box, I think it had 8 colours in it..)

This is what I did, I took one pair of my sons old jeans and started with the “sunburst/rainbow-knees” and then remembered the jeans I saw in latest Ottobre and got totally inspired. So now he has a new pair of jeans, I am willing to bet, he will like a LOT.

What you do is, you do your desing and then place a paper over the desing and iron. Then it should be permanent and tolerate washing, that we will have to wait and see, but pretty easy and nice, I think!

This is size 128cm and I did modify (a little) one of the jackets I saw in an old Ottobre –magazine..I left the pockets out and my zipper-attachement-skills are still in a developing-stage :) But it is a jacket and my daughter thinks it’s cute :)

We take one old dollpram…

..with a matching seating-covers, old and rusty..

Wash the pram..

…and spraypaint it with a new, vivid colour.

Cut the old seatcovering in pieces to see, what it’s made of and find a nice fabric, retro/vintage this time.

Cut all the parts needed out of the “new” materials.

It looks now like this…

Meillä on juhlittu keskimmäisen viisvuotis-synttäreitä, oli ihan ekat tytön kaverisynttärit ja hyvin meni!

Toiveissa oli Polly Pocket –kakku ja päädyttiin sitten vaan koristelemaan karkein ja noilla nukeilla – tuli minusta tosi pirtsakka ja tyttö tykkäsi kovasti, mikä onkin pääasia.

Kakussa on täytteenä kermaa, lettuhilloa ja ananasmurskaa. Päällä kermaa ja kuorrutuksena kaulittu vihreä marsipaani, joka on tytärlapsen suosikkia. Muuten tarjoiltiin keksejä, muffinsseja, karkkia ja popcornia, mustikkapiirakkaa ja mokkaruutuja.

Muffinsseihin tehtiin koristeet pilleistä, joihin tulostin Tähkäpään kuvia ja ne liimattiin paikalleen.

Servetit on Marimekon ja lautaset on Claes Ohlssonilta – tosi kivoja!

Mä olen täällä tunnustellut ennenkin, joten panen jotain tuoreempaa tunnustettavaa

1. Olen juuri aloittanut taas kerran karppaamisen, eli vähähiilarisen, tai ehkä meikäläisen tapauksessa hyvähiilarisen ruokavalion, painoa pitäisi saada tippumaan ja tämä on meikäläiselle monista kokeilluista se sopivin tapa, myös hyvän olon vuoksi.

2. Haaveilen muutosta jossain vaiheessa ulkomaille, mielessä siintää Pohjois-Amerikka tai myös Afrikan tietyt maat. Tämä on täysin haaveen tasolla, toki osallistun joka vuosi mm. Diversity Visa Lotteryyn, mutta vielä ei ole lykästänyt..

3. Olen tuo edellinenkin kohta mielessäni hakenut juuri kansainvälisiin opintoihin, suorittamaan BBA-tutkintoa, toukokuun lopussa selvinnee, miten kävi..Pitäkää peukkuja!

4. Ajoin talvella ekan kolarini, onneksi vain pienen sellaisen, vähän ruttaantunutta peltiä, muttei Luojan kiitos ihmisille käynyt kuinkaan. Ja kyllä, oma vika oli.

5. Olen tavattoman pettynyt ja surullinenkin eduskuntavaalien tuloksesta ja ahdistunut suvaitsemattomuuden ilmapiiristä, joka tuntuu tunkeneen lonkeroitaan laajemmalle viime aikoina täällä.

6. Yritän parhaillaan sopeutua siihen tosiasiaan, että meidän lapsiluku on täynnä. Olen tämän tiennyt toki jo aiemmin, mutta nyt viime aikoina se on vasta toden teolla tullut tajuntaan todeksi. Tähän liittyy tunteitten kirjoa laidasta laitaan.

7. Minulla todettin ennen joulua anemia, joka on nyt hoidossa, mutta selittää vähän tiettyä vetämättömyyttä ja välillä loputonta väsymystä, mikä vaivaa. Pääsin myös “iki-ihanaan” gastroskopiaan, eli sitä letkua nielemään ja siihen en aio enää suostua koskaan, oli sen verran karmiva kokemus. Onneksi kuitenkin tulokset ilahduttivat, kun vatsassa oli kaikki ok.

8. En ole ehtinyt viime aikoina katsoa ollenkaan elokuvia, mikä harmittaa vanhaa video-vuokraamon suurkuluttajaa siinä määrin, että meinaan kesän aikana korjata tilanteen. Valoisat yöt on tähän oivallista aikaa, nukkukoot muut

Ihana Äitienpäivä takana. Pihapuuhissa melkein koko päivä, mullassa möyritty ja pensaita leikattu, vähän uusia alueita raivattu käyttöön. On hauskaa, miten pihalla vietetyn päivän jälkeen on oikeasti lopen väsynyt, tekee mieli vaan maata sohvalla ja ottaa rennosti, ruumis on väsynyt, mutta mieli virkistynyt.

Kevätkranssi

Vanhasta kranssista edelliset koristeet pois ja tilalle vihreää ja mustaa rautalankaa, kera pääsiäishenkisen kanasen, joka on aika keväisen värinen veikko hänkin. Kranssit risut on kerätty pihan puista ja sidottu rautalankalla kimppaan. Tätä samaa kranssia on pidetty jo pari vuotta varmaan, hyvin se oli säilynyt lumen alla terassilla tähänkin kevääseen :D

On se ihana kangas! Metsolan joustofroteeta ostin 40cm pätkän ja se riittää juuri tähän 104cm t-paitaan ja shortseihin, jotka on vielä suunnitteluasteella..Kankaan ostin täältä ja kaava on Ottobren joku peruskaava, jota en tähän hätään muista.

Omenakori, kynttilänjalka ja köynnöskruunu

Rautalankaa olin taas vääntelemässä viikonloppuna, lyhytkurssi on nyt ohi ja innostuin, ei voi muuta sanoa. Tänään hainkin jo täydennystä rautakaupasta rautalanka-kokoelmiin ja kirjastosta kirjan inspiraatioksi aiheesta..

Omenoille syntyi kori kurssilla, tämä on ihana ja tällainen pitäisi tehdä pienempänä, sipuleille…

Kynttilänjalka on vähän vinttura, mutta hieno tuli, alla vähän yksityiskohtia:

Viimeisenä vielä tuollainen “kruunu” kukkapurkkiin, sen voisi vielä koristella kirkkailla lasihelmillä, kuin pienillä timanteilla..Muratti sitä pitkin sitten kiipeilee, jahka ehtii.

Violetti oli harjoituskappale, tehtiin kirpparilta löytyneestä retro-tyynyliinasta ja pöytäliinasta.

Muffinssien koristama ihana kangas, Hilcon Cookies, on Fabriinasta, vuori osin Ikean paksumpaa kangasta, tästä tuli aivan ihana!

Väriliidut uuteen uskoon!

Olen ennenkin kokeillut tätä, silloin vanhassa kattilassa, mutta luin jostain, että onnistuu mikrossakin, joten heti kokeiluun.

Tarvitaan katkenneita (tai joku ostaa uusiakin) vahaliituja:

…jotka voi toki koittaa sulattaa kokonaisinakin, mutta itse päädyin ensin raastamaan ne, nopeuttakseni sulamista – kattilassa ei tarvii raastaa, siinä sulaa kyllä ihan ilmankin melko nopsaan.. (kattila on myös entinen tämän jälkeen, tai vahaliidun sulatuskäyttöön varattu..)

Mulla sattui olemaan tollanen pieni raastinrauta, mutta se lähti kyllä fairylla puhtaaksi, eli ehkä uskaltaa normiraudallakin vetästä..

Tarvitaan myös silikonivuoka, omani ostin Tiimarista hintaan 0,99 euroa, ikeassahan näitä on myös suht edukkaasti…tätä ei voi käyttää muuhun tämän jälkeen, tuota vahaliitua ei saa pois kirveelläkään (tai ehkä sillä..?) tämän homman päätteeksi.

Sulata mikrossa liidut värisävyittäin (voi olla esim. montaa sävyä vihreää jne, tulee aika tasasta silti) ja kaada siistimmin kuin minä vuokaan jähmettymään. Kannattaa sulattaa vaikka vanhassa mainosmukissa, jonka voi sitten heittää mäelle (posliini / kivitavara), muovikippo, jonka piti kestää mikroa, suli pohjasta, kun tuo on KUUMAA tuo sula vahaliitu..

Siinä he nyt sitten on – somia, vai mitä?

Kruunuja, puita, kettusia..Oltiin lasten kanssa rautalankaa vääntämässä lyhytkurssilla ja kovasti tykkäsivät! Tytärlapsien töissä vilisee blingblingiä, paljetteja ja muovihelmiä poikineen.

Pidin hetki takaperin Ihanaiset Nordljus- kutsut kotonani ja voi mitä ihanuuksia siellä olikaan tarjolla…Suosikkini on kuitenkin tämä pieni, valkoinen talo, jonka monissa ikkunoissa leikkii valot ja varjot, pimeinä iltoina kynttilän lämmin liekki.

Aplikointi tuolla meikäläisen iänkaiken vanhalla koneella on melko hupaisan näköistä touhua, mutta pääasia lienee, että kuva on paidassa ja omistajalleen mieluinen :)

Kankaat on kierrätyskamaa, minun paitaa tuo musta ja pilkullinen kirpparilta ostettu naisten toppi, jonka ostin tuon kuosin vuoksi. Pilkkukankaat (punaiset) on uusia, toinen IINUsta ja toinen paikallisesta kangaskaupasta. Resorit kirpparilta.

Tykkään kyllä Vallilan verhoista ja niistä räiskyvistä värimaailmoista fotoprintteineen, mutta jotenkin nämä keväiset kuosit näyttävät enemmän meidän tuvan näköisille..Minusta jotenkin ihan erilaista Vallilaa, mitä olen tottunut näkemään.

Pitää! Se on hirmuisen hauskaa, vaikkakin vielä ottaa käsiin aika paljon, kun tekniikan sijasta on vasta intoa ja kokeilunhalua. Malleja on maailma väärällään ja rautalankojakin mitä moninaisempia. Opiston viikonloppukurssilla väännetty nämä alla olevat, varsin rustiikkiset, kauniisti sanoen..

Kuvissa leipäpistin(-köhän sen nimi on..?) ja pari pientä naulakkoa.

Pinkkiä ja pinkki-limeä velouria, toisessa sivussa tuollainen häntä. Vuori on trikoota. Seuraavan osaan sitten tehdä tämän virheet vältellen, mutta tytärlapsi tykkäsi tästäkin. Nämä neliöpipot ei vaan näytä oikein miltään ilman päätä, mutta koskapa en linjavetona laita lasten kuvia tänne, pitänee kehitellä joku sopivan kokoinen mallipää :)

Muutama ihana juttu: Name it

Name it –vaatteissa on aina jotain ihanaa, värit on usein räiskyviä, kuviot kauniita, mutta lapselle sopivia ja laatukin on ihan ok ainakin meidän kokemusten perusteella. Tykkään.

Löysin kirppikseltä uutta, pinkkiä trikoota pienen palan. Siitä, turkoosista trikoopaidasta, lime-pinkki velourista ja parista erivärisestä resorista syntyi tunika, Ottobren 6/2010 ohjeilla Minnie.

Kilpikonnapaita ja autopaidan “pienistys” :)

Tuollainen kilpparipaita syntyi isin vanhasta t-paidasta, äitin trikoohousujen punteista ja Ikean kankaasta leikatusta kilpparista. Koko 92/98 suunnilleen ja hihat 3/4.

Kirpparilta löytyi Autot- sarjan paita, jossa tuo ihana kleinbussi, sekä pino resoriakin..No, siitä sitten vaan tuumasta toimeen, sillä paita oli kokoa 122/128 ja aivan liian suuri, mutta kankaanhan voi käyttää uuteen paitaan…

Tuollainen siitä syntyi, kuva napattu hyvin pikaisesti, kun pikkumies kirjaimellisesti vei tämän käsistä…Äitin silmään olisi jälkeenpäin aatellen voinut valita vähän paremmat väriyhdistelmät, mutta eipä tuntunut paidan käyttäjää juuri moinen asia painavan..
